On this page, certain key features are listed as reference.
Based on the modern Microsoft .NET
technologies.
Document check-out, check-in. Only one user at a time can modify a document.
Easy-to-use, understandable access rights
to folders and documents. With
no rights to a document or folder, you will have no idea it even exists.
Full support for Document Processes
. Define document approval processes, review
processes, and so on.
Custom meta information
as you need it. You can define sets of custom meta
information for different needs, and then again apply those sets as needed. The
supported meta information types are dates, lists of values, or texts. All the
standard pieces of meta information like file types, names, comments, and so
on, those are built in. The rest you can define as needed.
Paperiton ADF Automated Document Feeder
adds documents automatically to the
Document Management System according to the rules you define.
Paperiton ADF is the easy and powerful way to integrate your document
scanners or other document sources like AS/400 and UNIX / Linux
systems to the DMS.
The logic behind the scenes can be extended or changed according to almost any
special needs. This is achieved with the Folder Provider concept
. Folder
Providers are separate "servlets" which take care of their own folders and
documents. The possibilities provided by this concept are virtually unlimited.
Instead of modifying tested and well-working components for customer-specific
needs, a new folder provider can be created that does whatever it is supposed
to do. Adapting the system to any customer specific document management needs
is therefore very efficient.
Custom Folder Providers
can be used to combine information from an
external system in order to present different views to the contents of
Paperiton DMS.
Documents are stored inside a Microsoft SQL Server
2000 or 2005 database. If you want
to publish a set of documents on a web server, you can simply create a partial
clone of the main database and use the clone for publishing – separately from
the production environment.
Powerful search
functionality. Use any meta information, or search from the
contents of documents, it is up to you. When you have created a good set of
criteria that you want to use again, simply save it! When you need it next
time, it is there waiting for you.
Stored searches
can be used also as templates for new searches. You can load
the stored search back to the search tool.
You can freely customize the search tool as you please - based on what you
need, with a layout you prefer.
Functionality to create and use search functionality based on visual
navigation. This concept makes it possible to predefine searches based on
hyperlinks and centrally stored searches, for instance when users do not
necessarily know the textual information needed to search for things. Search
results are just couple of clicks away.
Paperiton DMS Windows Client
is the tool for "document workers". It has
resemblance to the standard "Windows Explorer". This tool has the
full power of the system available in it in a Windows application and it
provides rich integration and management functionality.
